The Women in Ministry Conference was held from January 17th to 19th, 2025, at Nava SpoortyKendra, Bangalore, centered around the theme “The Chosen and Called” (Deuteronomy 14:2). 56 women from 14 districts across the India Field gathered to renew their calling as daughters of God, reaffirming their commitment to serving His church in every possible way.

A dedicated team volunteered their time and effort to ensure the smooth running of the conference.

Participants were grateful for the opportunity to step away from their daily routines and experience a time of spiritual renewal and fellowship. The conference was a time of deep spiritual nourishment. Attendees sought the Lord, yearning for His presence, power, and a renewed sense of calling. Despite personal and societal responsibilities, they were reminded of their divine purpose.

Among the attendees were Regional Director Dr. Mark Louw, General Superintendent Dr. Carla Sunberg (Main Speaker), Dr. Chuck Sunberg, India Field Strategy Coordinator Rev. Dr. Sunil Dandge, South Asia Nazarene Bible College Principal Rev. Dr. Simon Jothi, and South Karnataka DS Dr. Rev. Mathews Jonnala.

Dr. Carla Sunberg delivered powerful sessions on ‘Embracing God,’ ‘Embracing Ourselves, and ‘Embracing Ministry.’ She emphasized that God calls and chooses us regardless of background or circumstances. Reflecting on Ruth’s story, she highlighted that even though Ruth was a Moabite, she became King David’s great-grandmother. In ‘Embracing Ourselves,’ she unpacked Psalm 23, reminding us that even in life’s darkest moments, God’s presence sustains us. She also addressed women in ministry, offering biblical affirmations for preaching and leadership.

One of the sessions focused on embracing the balance between family and ministry, offering practical insights on navigating both roles with grace and purpose. Additionally, interactive workshops provided valuable opportunities for reflection and growth. One session explored nurturing emotional well-being, equipping participants with tools for resilience and self-care, while another encouraged creativity in womanhood, inspiring attendees to express their faith and identity in meaningful ways.

A vibrant cultural night featured traditional dances, songs, monologues on Ruth and Esther, and an impactful skit from Eastern Tamil Nadu. The final session, led by Rev. Kiran, was a powerful call to deeper intimacy with God, and many women responded with open hearts at the altar, where Mrs. Sarah Dandge interceded for each one, lifting them up in prayer. Dr. Carla’s closing message, “Embrace Ministry,” was followed by the Lord’s Supper.

As the conference concluded, hearts overflowed with gratitude. Women left inspired, their spirits rekindled, ready to serve and uplift others. Truly, to God be the glory!
