BUCHAREST, ROMANIA — Since February 27th, the Blessings Church of the Nazarene has been working tirelessly to accommodate Ukrainian refugees fleeing from the war in their home country. In the church building and at the Viilor property, we’ve had a constant flow of people coming and going. Some people stay for a night or two, while others have been with us for a whole week now.
Aside from offering accommodations, we’ve given rides to and from the airport and the train and bus stations; we’ve also provided warm meals, phone cards, medical supplies, hugs and emotional support. This has all been possible through an outpouring of donations from individuals, other NGOs, and even businesses like IKEA. Beds and mattresses, food, dishes, water, refrigerators, bedding, clothes, toiletries, cleaning supplies, toys – you name it, God has provided it. It’s been humbling to see how so many people have come together to make sure that our Ukrainian neighbors—now friends—are taken care of during this difficult time.
Monica Boseff, a lay person in the Nazarene denomination, has connected many individuals with people who work at various embassies (Romanian, American, Ukrainian, Austrian, etc.). Train and plane tickets have been purchased for people moving on to other countries. One couple has decided to stay in Romania; they already have an interview scheduled for the visa process.
God is good. He provides. Thank you for all of the ways that so many of you have supported this work through prayer, financial support, material donations and more. Your constant support is giving us the resources we need and the stamina to continue serving our Ukrainian friends in Romania.
